Ms Sonam Choki holds a Master’s degree in Dzongkha and Choekey from the College of Language and Cultural Studies under the Royal University of Bhutan. She also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from Samtse College of Education, strengthening her academic practice and pedagogy at the tertiary level.

In 2017, she joined Norbuling Rigter College as a founding member, serving as a Resident Tutor and Academic Assistant. In this role, she supports the Academic Office in maintaining accurate records of student attendance and academic performance, ensuring proper documentation and timely reporting. She also oversees the welfare, discipline, and overall well-being of boarding students, fostering a safe and supportive residential environment.
Before joining the college, Ms Sonam Choki worked as an ECCD Facilitator at Hejo ECCD Centre, where she gained valuable experience in early childhood care and development. She also serves as a Y-PEER Advisor, mentoring and supporting youth engagement and peer education initiatives.
