Her research and consultancy work reflect a commitment to linking academic inquiry with organisational practice. As an undergraduate, she examined factors influencing brand switching in cellular networks. She later conducted a consultancy study titled “Effectiveness of Human Resource Planning on Productivity: The Mediating Role of Training and Development at PCAL,” exploring how strategic HR planning enhances productivity through structured capacity-building initiatives. In 2025, she led a comprehensive Training Needs Assessment for faculty, administrative, and support staff at Norbuling Rigter College, contributing to evidence-based human resource development and institutional improvement.
Her research portfolio also demonstrates interdisciplinary engagement. She carried out a longitudinal study (2022–2024), “Assessment of Water Quality in Doteng Community: A Study of Chumphuney Ju River and Dragepangtso Ju River in Relation to Land Use/Cover,” examining environmental sustainability in relation to community land-use practices. In addition, her work “Bjagoed Menchu (བྱ་རྒོད་སྨན་ཆུ): Legacy of Vulture with a Broken Wing” reflects her interest in ecological heritage and indigenous knowledge systems.
At the undergraduate level, Ms Sangay Zam teaches Management and Finance modules in the BCom programme. She integrates research insights, case-based learning, and applied approaches in her teaching, with emphasis on differentiated learning, critical thinking, analytical skills, and real-world application to prepare students for complex organisational and financial environments.
Beyond her academic responsibilities, she serves as Staff Secretary, where she actively supports staff welfare and well-being. Working closely with colleagues and management, she promotes collaboration, strengthens professional support systems, and contributes to a positive and inclusive work environment.
