Mr Dorji Choda holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from South Asian University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. He also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCHE) from Samtse College of Education in 2024, strengthening his pedagogical competence in tertiary education. His Master’s research, “Assessment of Quality of Life and Wellbeing of Elderly People in Bhutan,” reflects his academic interest in ageing, wellbeing, gender, and social development.

Since 2022, he has been serving as an Associate Lecturer in BA Development Studies at Norbuling Rigter College, affiliated with the Royal University of Bhutan. He teaches undergraduate courses, supervises student research and academic writing, and provides academic guidance as a semester guide. He also serves as Internship Coordinator for final-year students, facilitating placements and overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of internship outcomes. In addition, he contributes to assessment and quality assurance processes as a member of the College Examination Committee.

Mr Dorji has substantial experience in qualitative and mixed-methods research, including data collection, analysis, interpretation, and academic reporting. Alongside his Master’s thesis, he has supervised undergraduate research projects such as “Gender Difference in Environmental Concerns” and contributed to collaborative institutional studies, including “Enhancing Library and IT Services in Norbuling Rigter College: A Users’ Perspective” (2024), student and staff satisfaction surveys, and “Gender and Taboo Language in Higher Education.”

Beyond teaching and research, he actively contributes to student development and academic administration. He serves as Staff Advisor to the Waste Management Club and the Games and Sports Club and has mentored undergraduate research students for three years. His earlier leadership roles include serving as Resident Leader of the Student Hostel and as a member of the Social Service Unit at Sherubtse College. Through these engagements, he demonstrates a sustained commitment to student support, leadership development, and holistic academic growth.
