Rigter Run: Celebrating World Health Day

Norbuling Rigter College celebrated World Health Day today (7 April 2018) by conducting 17 Kms and 8 Kms Rigter Run respectively for Men and Women. The exciting route took 45 Men and 45 Women runners through woods, farm roads, river side and villages. There were participants from Paro College of Education, Shari HSS, Lango MSS, Doteng LSS, Shaba HSS and Norbuling Rigter College.

Sonam Choden of Paro College of Education ran 8 kms in 42 minutes to win the first prize followed by Dhan Kumari of Lango MSS and Sangay Zangmo of Shari HSS.

From men, Denden Penjor, a first year Business student of Norbuling Rigter College came first by running the 17 kms in 1 hour 17 minutes followed by Sonam Jamtso and Tandin Tshewang of the same college.

Norbuling Rigter College would like to extend our gratitude to Universal Genuine Parts (Olaka, Thimphu) for sponsoring the refreshment, RBP of Paro for controlling the traffic, Paro Hospital for sending medical support team with Ambulance and all the participants for making the event a great success.

Rigter Run will be an annual feature. In 2019 it will be open to all. This year it was organized only for students in line with the Election Commission of Bhutan rules and regulations as National Council Election is approaching.
