NRC welcomes its Freshers

Norbuling Rigter College welcomed its freshers on 5 August 2019. The welcome began with the purification ritual and invocation of the local deity to safeguard and bless the college and its students and staff with good health and harmony.

In his welcome address, the President of the College reminded the students that as they begin the new phase of their life as college students, they must remember to pay their gratitude to the “Triple Gem, the Benevolent Monarchs and their parents”. Further, he said that the students should balance freedom with responsibility and not to be carried away with the misguided notion of “College Life is a Golden Life”. Of all, the president asserted that as aspired by His Majesty the Fifth King, the students must be the guardians of Bhutanese values and ethos and uphold it dearly.

During the welcome session, the college also officially launched two programmes borrowed from Sherubtse College and offered Tashi Khadar to the two Programme Leaders. The Programmes which are BA in English and Dzongkha and BA in Political Science and Sociology will begin from August 2019.

The orientation of the transition of the freshers to college life will continue till 10 August 2019.
