Norbuling Rigter College was formally inaugurated on 4 May 2018 by His Excellency the Honorable Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay. The Education Minister Lyonpo Norbu Wangchuk, Former Minister Lyonpo Sangay Ngyedup and many other dignitaries including the Vice Chancellor, Education Secretary, Dzongdas of Paro and Haa and all the sector and local government heads of Paro also graced the occasion.
In his address, the Honorable Prime Minister urged the College to infuse Bhutanese values, culture, and history as a part of value added programme so that children stay rooted as this cannot be found even in the top notch universities. He also stressed that Paro is an ideal location for education and the community should collaborate with the college so that as the college grows the community can also benefit.
On this special and big day, the college also offered scholarships to 7 students.
